VegFest Block Party in Plaza Midwood!

Midwood’s VegFest 2013 ~ Celebrate animals, love, and your healthy-self!

Charlotte Vegfest is a celebratory festival to explore and rejoice in the benefits of healthy, sustainable and compassionate lifestyles. It will feature vegan desserts, local vegetarian/vegan restaurants and food trucks, local vendors, speakers, raffle with prizes, gift bags and more. VegFest will bring together the various plant-based lifestyle groups at one event, to raise funds to benefit local animal rescuesand to show people how easy it is to respect your body and animals from dogs to cows! There will be a speakers series with activists ready to educate and inform and tons of Vendors, so come on out and learn about Charlotte’s eco-friendly, animal-loving, healthy eating shops and restaurants!

Schedule of Events for VegFest – May 11/Noon-5:

  • 12pm – Vegfest Begins!
  • 12pm – Too Much of Nothing(Band)
  • 1pm – Shabaka Amen
  • 1:30pm – Dr. Michael Smith
  • 2pm – Leilani Munter
  • 2:30pm – Satya Jvala – Belly Dancer
  • 3pm – Gene Baur
  • 3:30pm – Gene Baur

And… wait, there’s more! Stick around for later in the day to attend movies on the lawn at the Kilgo United Methodist! The movies are ALWAYS free and you can enjoy spending time with you family sipping on lemonade and munchin’ on popcorn! If enjoying a nice evening outside with free refreshments doesn’t beat the theaters, I don’t know what does! This Saturday, May 11th, they’ll be showing “Rise of the Gaurdians,”starting at dusk, (about 8 p.m.)!
